Valérie Bonneton, an actress who has a dog

PORTRAIT – This actress became popular late, in particular thanks to her role in the series Do not do this, do not do that, has also asserted itself in the cinema. She has just published her autobiography.

This September morning, Gaston, “Maltese of the lords breed”, tumbles wriggling at the Closerie des Lilas, in Paris. We imagined him to be big and strong, he’s tiny, and when his “mother of his own” briefly disappears, he rolls on the ground in despair. “I warned you”, laughs Valérie Bonneton, sitting down again. Gaston, for sure, will become a star. In JC Lattès’ “Bestiale” collection, directed by the writer Clara Dupont-Monod, Valérie Bonneton publishes mom to me, a first novel written with delicacy, modesty and humour. An autobiography told from Gaston’s point of view, which changes everything. Through his look, his nose and the touch of his pads, the story becomes lighter, funny and sensory. “Writing by putting myself in my dog’s shoes freed me”, explains Valérie Bonneton. “She has a real literary fiber, she is hypercreative, we laughed a lot”, analyzes Clara Dupont-Monod, who hopes for the same success in bookstores as for Olivia Ruiz.
