A resident of the Lozère department posted on her Facebook account three photos taken by her son on his way to work. The animal, blinded by the headlights of the vehicle and which can be distinguished very clearly, seems to be a wolf. This breeder, victim of predation in July on her flock of ewes, is convinced that her animals were victims of this canine back in France and in particular in the Cévennes and Larzac.
“My son came across a wolf this morning at 7:35 a.m. on his way to work at Florac… He managed to photograph it because he was terrified by the light from the headlights. It was at a place called L’Hospitalet, in southern Lozère. Now we have proof of his presence, and confirmation that the attack my herd suffered this summer was indeed that of a wolf and not of stray dogs, ”she explains on her Facebook account.
According to the procedure, the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) should collect the testimony of the motorist and, on the basis of the images, initiate a verification procedure.
