It’s not just pizzas that are entitled to their ranking of the best restaurants in the world! The burgers are also studied closely.
A “Best Benelux Burger” competition took place recently. The five jurors all agreed, which was a first for this competition: Kurt Singulé’s Blue Bayou won the honors.
Out of 450 proposals, 5 went to the final. And even before reaching the deliberation room, the jury was already in agreement, proudly recounts the Burger Chef, whose restaurant “Copains” and the drive-thru SMOAK are located in Wezembeek-Oppem, not far from Tervueren.
This burger is actually made with blue cheese. Which is a risky choice because blue cheeses are not to everyone’s taste, far from it. The Blue Bayou is made of a brown bun, truffle mayonnaise, with roasted hazelnuts, Black Angus beef, blue cheese, red onion and mushrooms flambéed with Jack Daniel’s whiskey. All that !
We can now taste it in Wezembeek-Oppem, this piece has of course been added to the permanent menu of this restaurant-bar which has been offering BBQ streetfood since 2021 on Leuvensesteenweg 10a 1970 Wezembeek-Oppem, Belgium.
Already in 2020, the address had obtained fourth place in this annual ranking and in 2021, the bronze medal. By obtaining the gold medal for this year, the address confirms its know-how.
