Tesla has organized a recall of 24,000 Model 3s. With a seat belt problem, it is one of the brand’s rare physical recalls.

Unlike several recalls this year, Tesla has this time asked its customers to come to the workshop. Indeed, the last large-scale check concerns the seat belt and cannot be done remotely.

This recall concerns 24,064 Tesla Model 3, with production dates ranging from 2017 to 2022. The NHTSA, the American transport authority, has thus detailed this recall.

“Tesla has decided to proactively recall certain Model 3s built between 2017 and 2022”can we read. “To inspect the left rear seat belt buckle and center belt anchor to ensure that the components are attached to specification.” »

The problem would mainly come from poor maintenance of the electric sedan. Some manipulations require removing these two parts, which depend on the same bolt. The problem would arise in the event of incorrect repositioning of the components.

Tesla should send notifications to customers via email. But the NHTSA already specifies part of the serial numbers that this problem concerns. “Our records indicate that this recall could affect your 5YJ3E1EA8JF0XXXXX vehicle. »
