They knew they couldn’t settle, but sat down anyway. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, two students, 19 years old and in their first year at the Faculty of Sciences of Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle)went to a restaurant at Houdemont, to dine there.
Aperitifliquor bottle, rib steaksprofiteroles and coffee, the two friends enjoyed a hearty meal.
However, when it came to settling, the two young men let one of the staff know that they were in theinability to pay.
Prohibition to cross the doors of the restaurant for three months
Around 11:00 p.m., police officers arrived on site and carried out thearrest students.
Placed in police custody, they were interviewed by police officers from the judicial support group and revealed that they had no money and that they were starting to be hungry. One of them, which would obviously be homelesshad, according to him, not eaten for several days.
Released at the end of the morning, the duo left the police station with a forbidden to go to the restaurant involved for three months.
