Five new restaurants to try for the start of the school year

Inaugurated on July 1, this friendly bistro is the perfect place to meet up with friends for the traditional holiday debrief. Antoine and Margaux, the masters of the place, offer good little dishes to share concocted from seasonal products grown with respect for nature. The menu is intended to be short, has several vegetarian suggestions as well as a few meat dishes and is renewed every week, according to market arrivals. To accompany this deliciously committed cuisine, the duo has planned a wine list made up of natural or biodynamic cuvées.

Peacock of the day

A concept that does not lack originality: half canteen, half art gallery, this establishment invites you early in the morning, for lunch or a snack to feed your stomach and your mind. While you admire the works of local artists, your taste buds will feast on vegetarian (or vegan) quiches, wild garlic focaccia, pasta salads or even delicious little homemade desserts such as oatmeal pancakes or blueberry muffins. The perfect address for a local and homemade lunch or brunch in the heart of Namur.

The address? Rue des Carmes, 33 5000 Namur

We are staying in Namur to test this brand new wine bar which has just opened its doors this Sunday, September 4! The wine list has been meticulously put together by Mike, a great enthusiast who went to hotel school. In a cozy and cozy atmosphere, you will have an aperitif while nibbling on some gourmet tapas prepared by the chef or by local artisans – rillettes, homemade hummus, gazpacho and focaccia according to the inspiration of the moment. The people of Namur will have a new (very) nice address where they can toast and enjoy themselves.

The address? Rue Dewez 11, 5000 Namur

Saussice is no more: the concept of bistronomic fast-food, launched six months ago by Bénédicte and Hanna, has changed its name and is now called La Flamme. Its fans can be reassured: the restaurant-caterer will change neither its menu – which gives pride of place to local products cooked over a wood fire – nor its rock spirit which has pleased the people of Brussels so much. We use the pretext of this new brand to treat ourselves to a tasty stoemp-sausage with friends.

The address? Romania Street 56, 1060 Saint-Gilles

If you have not yet pushed the doors of this Liège establishment which opened its doors at the end of May, we strongly advise you to book a table there as soon as they reopen – towards the end of September. This ultra-friendly neo-gastronomic restaurant which offers responsible and affordable cuisine, is one of the most beautiful addresses recently inaugurated in the Ardent City. We enjoy local products embellished with flavors and techniques inspired from around the world. An address that we will certainly still hear a lot about.
