Elon Musk lays off employees on Twitter

The chaos continues at Twitter. Elon Musk, which has publicly opposed many employees of the platform, multiplies the layoffs, reports CNN Business. The technology magnate, at the head of the social network since the end of October, notably had a dispute, this Monday, November 14, with the engineer Eric Frohnhoefer on Twitter, which ended with a comment from the billionaire lamenting: “He’s fired”. The Licensee subsequently confirmed that it had lost access to the Platform’s internal systems.

According to the American network, Eric Frohnhoefer tweeted evidence suggesting that Elon Musk was wrong when he claimed that Twitter was working, in the billionaire’s words, “super slowly” in several countries. Another employee, who also intervened on this subject, was fired the following day. Subsequently, a handful of other Twitter employees said on the platform that they had been fired over an email stating that their “behavior violated company policy”. Sources told CNN that in recent days, employees have been particularly critical of the businessman in conversations on the company’s Slack feed.

Boss’s answers

In response to these dismissals, Elon Musk declared, this Tuesday, November 15, by a tweet: “I want to apologize for having dismissed these geniuses. Their immense talent will undoubtedly be of great use elsewhere. »

The layoffs come after the Tesla boss cut half of Twitter’s staff, in what many contractors called “endangering the platform.” Elon Musk is trying to remove senior executives from the social network and eliminate its board of directors. The latter now seems to run Twitter with the help of his friends Jason Calacanis and David Sackshis personal lawyer Alex Spiro, as well as qualified engineers from its other companies, such as Tesla. Many other changes accentuating the “chaos” are already to come.
