Balenciaga leaves Twitter after its takeover by Elon Musk

SFollowing Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and the many changes made by the entrepreneur, the luxury brand decided to leave the platform.

Following the purchase of Twitter by the South African-Canadian-American entrepreneur, business leader and billionaire – Elon Musk, the social network has undergone many changes that have greatly displeased, especially brands. Among these disgruntled people, we can count celebrities like Gigi Hadid, but also entities like the car manufacturer General Motors or UK home appliance company Dyson, both of which have suspended Twitter ad campaigns. Today, it is the luxury brand Balenciaga, based in Paris, which has decided to leave the platform.

Indeed, since the acquisition a month ago, Elon Musk’s strategic decisions and implementation plans have raised concerns among stakeholders and users. Musk had initially expressed plans and made a massive layoff when he took on his role as CEO. It also plans to focus much of its efforts on promoting free speech, while minimizing content moderation on the website.
