After the monitor lizard in the pool on the Basque coast, here is the monitor lizard in a motor in Agen. The Lot-et-Garonne fire department animal service was called on Tuesday for an unusual intervention, after an alert concerning the presence of a monitor lizard in the parking lot of a sign located in the ZAC Agen Sud.
The exotic animal had taken refuge in the engine block of a vehicle parked in the parking lot, say the firefighters on their Facebook page. “80 cm long, it was able to be taken out and identified as a black and white Tegu from Argentina” specify the rescuers. It is now “awaiting a possible identification of its owner”, the monitor lizard having most certainly escaped from a neighboring residence.
On October 2, firefighters from Pyrénées-Atlantiques intervened to recover a savannah monitor lizard, which was in the swimming pool of a residence in Saint-Pierre-d’Irube, in the Basque Country.
